A lovely weathered old gate no longer in use, covered in wild plants going to seed in late autumn.
This half-hidden gate beside an oak tree in a gap between field hedgerows, with ripening fields and forests beyond, is evocative of a lost rural idyll. The gate seems to be suspended in history.
